Betfair’s bet matching process - further detail
Thursday, 27 March 2008

Further detail regarding changes to Betfair’s bet matching process announced in the main Forum today

What’s in today’s release?

  1. We have changed the matching process which is currently operating on markets that are not in-play. We now only match bets across selections where it typically wouldn't be possible to provide an improvement beyond the price requested. For example we'd match back bet requests on two tennis players at 1.96 and 2.04 respectively, but we would leave back bets at 1.95 and 2.04 respectively unmatched. In practice that means matching bets across selections only within the range 100.1% to 99.9% (see formula below).
  2. We are also introducing this matching process to in-play markets today.
